Sound Card Recommendations

So I believe my sound card is shot my speaker system does not work and so I hooked anothert one up and it does not work either. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on the fix to this, I'm going to be looking online for a new sound card, but money is tight so I'm wondering the best one to get. Before I get a new sound card, I'm going to restart my computer and hook my speakers first. Does anyone hacve a sound card they want to part with. They are pretty easy to instal right?

Never mind, I fixed it for some reason my master volume was on mute. I'm glad I did some looking. Nothing better than feeling the constant idiot.
