Built an HTPC

Built an HTPC

Postby MikeWire on Fri Aug 29, 2008 8:43 am

So I broke down and picked up some components to build an HTPC - here are the specs:

Foxconn 6150K8MA-8EKRS 939 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 mATX
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Manchester Socket 939
ASUS EN8400GS SILENT 512M GeForce 8400 GS PCIx16
DVI -> HDMI adapter to LGVX37 HDTV
OCZ Value Series 2GB DDR 400
ASUS 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA
Rosewill RCR-102 52-in-1 USB 2.0 Card Reader
HT OMEGA STRIKER 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound
MS Media Center remote w/ IR

Running Vista Ultimate 32-bit so I can utilize the Media Center and VNC to control the desktop because I have no mouse or keyboard hooked up. Works well, and I plan on ditching my SD DVD player and run this from now on.

I have no idea what the two of you were just talking about, BUT I did see that JR decided not to jump on the PS3 bandwagon, which is a good thing, so now he can get a 360 and play with us on wednesday nights!
